I just bought a 2000 ranger, the previous owner put brand new heads on it, and I assembled the intake. I ran it today it runs great I have good oil pressure, it revs right up to rev limiter at idle, no CEL's, no smoke, and it made enough power to chirp second gear and pulls well (5 speed). It has a knocking comming from the drivers side that is consistant with rpms. I dont think its a rod or bearing since theres no power loss and has good oil pressure, but I cant feel a exhaust leak around the manifold. Any known areas these manifolds leak? The EGR tube was tight but since its a knocking it seems like it would be one cylinder or plug. I probably put 2 miles on it after letting it idle for 10 minutes or so.
