didn't ya'll have a tech tip on getting rid of dummy case on 2wd BII'S and putting a one piece from a ranger. I thought I might get a couple more MPG if I do this. Also it should make the BII about 75-100 lbs lighter.

You would need replace the transmission also. Don't know if that would be cost effective for you.

i doubt you'd see that much improvement. a full t-case only weighs 40-50 lbs. I was able to lie on my back and lift my 1350M onto the back of my tranny by myself.

like explorin said, you'd need a new trans. i saw a thread one time where a guy converted a 2wd trans to a 4wd trans, but it took a lot of work. doubt it would be worth going from 15mpg's to 16mpg's

while the dummy T-case is a 40-something pound lump it doesn't add any friction
to the drivetrain.

What would actually make more sense is to swap a real T-case in in place of it that way you'd have a low range.

What would you use low range for? backing into parking places without torturing the clutch.
ALL ranger/B2 transmissions are geared too damned tall in reverse.
