duplicolor bed armor

I haven't used it, but I saw it on this last week's episode of Gearz. It looks pretty decent actually. I wonder if I stripped the OEM rubberized mat out of my ranger, if I could get away with a very thick layer as the new flooring without increasing road noise too bad.

i used the herculiner cause you can throw a hobo in there, offroad, and when you get out he will have no skin. the herculiner stuff actually has a shatload of rubber bits in it. but whutever you use make sure you build it up. i didn't spread mine on enough now to fix it i need to sand and clean and wire brush. but do it right first and it will last. ROUGH UP THE BED ITSELF SO IT CAN STICK! biggest step if you cant tell

they say that it doesn't have like a cure time or whatever, so you can patch it any time you want. like there isn't a window for recoat time.

and maybe i wouldn't do it all in one day, but i'd be pretty serious about going all the way. whole interior bed, bed caps, tailgate cap. and then also spending some good time stripping wheel wells and the lower quadrant of my truck, patching rust spots (hopefully it won't be bad enough to need new metal) and then doing the whole bottom 3 inches or so in it also. it would be worth it beyond belief. might consider doing my door jambs too lol, what the heck, why not you know?

there is a cure time regardless of wut they say. the cantaminants will get in between the layers if you don't prep the stages right and if you bed line rusted metal it will rust below it. you will need to cut out all the rusted metal and prepp and weld the patch pnls into the spot and paint, have fun man an woohoo

i did the Duplicolor once... never again!!! stuff was s**t. went on like black water. thin, none of the granuels, wouldn't dry. so bad i called and they refunded my money plus a gallon of acetone so i could clean it all off!
i'm sticking with Herculiner or Road Warrior (Rustoleum) as i've never had a problem with them. i get whichever is cheaper at the time. just my $.02.

I have heard of people spraying the rubberized liner under the bed and on some of the areas under the bed and the frame area they did not want to rust. The spray does reduce the noise from the road....maybe I will do this next year on my Ranger......hmmmmmmm.....maybe this summer.......hmmmmm

i think this stuff might be kinda new... but i could be wrong. the way that i've all of a sudden seen and heard all the adveritsements and how they have like promotional coupons and stuff.. it seems like it's new

maybe they had an old truck bed liner that you used. i'm not sure i guess.
