Drunk driver tottaled my ranger NEED ADVICE

my dad had a similar fight with the insurance company on my sisters b2 many years ago. he fought them for 6 months and they finally paid him what he wanted. so, my advice, go find the drunk driver and punch him in the gut 3 or 4 times (no bruises, cuts, etc.) then fight til they give you what you want

Doesn't matter as long as you get paid.

I have a feeling that this will be a long fight. I just want it to be done so I can not drive my full size welding rig around every where I go at 8mpg. And get it back on the road or get another. I talked to my insurance and they said I need to find 3 trucks that are coparible to mine, either with the same add ons or they will credit me for my lift lockers ect... I need to spend some more time checking out my truck to see if it is fixable or not. If it is I want to keep it and just make it my trail, snow, hunting truck. minimal pavement driving

i'd take all the good stuff off...theyll never know u took the lockers cd player, lift and all that jazz out...hell ill buy the lift off u and give u my stock junk...unless they already got the truck

Truck is still at my shop taking up space. I really dont want to pull off all the good stuff I would rather just have them take care of every thing and put new stuff on a diffrent truck or some new parts on my old truck

This is the car my truck hit. The first pic is of my truck and the truck that hit it

keep at em for better offers....parasites hate to give up what they've taken!

I just looked at the pics...looks like you could get em to total it because it would cost more in parts & labor & paint than it's worth (if the frame's not bent, you could buy it back, get salvage parts, find someone who would repair/repaint it on the side for a lot less labor than a shop would charge....like the other members said)

when you tell them what you've put into it nickle and dime them to death. for exampleyou have lockers, if you had paid someone to install them you'd have paid for labor. even if you installed it yourself it still took X hours of labor. For every aftermarket part you list, include a labor charge as well reflecting the time it took you or a shop to install the part.

Make the guys insurance company (or yours if he didnt have any) also reimburse you for the difference in miles per gallon between your DD and welding rig. keep receipts. If he hadnt hit you, you owuldnt be driving it, so its a cost of the accident. Keep pictures and a log of the miles your driving too.

The latest up date I talked to them and was told if I'm not happy with the offer I have to find 3 other truck that are close to mine and send them links to the adds. So I just sent my email with that. They also sent me the file showing how they came up with the price they offered me its all wrong. They say my truck is missing a seat!!! I got a $25 credit for 6-9 inch lift (I would love to get one of those for $25 Skyjackers basic on there website is $1113.47) So if anyone need a lift call your insurance they must be able to get skyjacker lifts for $25!!!! Ill try and post there quote on photo bucket so you guys can get a good laugh

I wouldn't doubt their pricing being "skeewed" a little. When my old truck got totaled they wanted to give me $9.00 for my tonneau cover and $10 for my CD player...

I got hit by a drunk 2 years ago and they totalled by T-boned (passenger) Ranger. It took insurance 6 months to get me a check...that was WITH constant nagging.

Keep up with it, and best you can do is talk to the adjuster and see what can happen. You'll probably get KBB or Nada value for your truck...

Good luck.

tell them they are dead on the money. thats what your stuff is worth AFTER THE ACCIDENT!!! Do you have receipts for any of the stuff you purchased and installed? Take a few different site screen prints such and skyjacker and james duff and show them teh comparable priceing so they have something to work off of. Tally up the amount you have paid into insurance since you were 16, then give them that total number and remind them that they owe you.

Tell them if they dont perform the service you paid for to your standards, you will demand a full refund, all funds since you first bought insurance, LOL>
