Driver window leaves 1/2" gap when rolled up; passenger door power lock doesn't work

Power window on my 2000 Ranger, when I roll up the driver window there's a 1/2" gap left- it doesn't roll all the way up.
My girlfriend encouraged the window up from outside the car while I was inside holding the button, and we got it up all the way but later in the day I got in the car and it had dropped that 1/2" again.

Don't imagine it's the whole motor because it rolls up and down great until the last 1/2"- any thoughts? Sounds like window motor problems are common enough on these.

As for the passenger door, lock/unlock does nothing from either P door switch, D door switch, or key fob. Bad connection maybe? Bad motor on this part? I can pull the lock up and push it down manually, but that defeats the purpose of power doors and I'm betting it's an easy fix once I figure out what it is.

It takes about 5 minutes to take the door panel off. Just did both of mine about a week ago. The motors themselves almost never go bad, if the wiring and the switches are okay.
It's most likely the drive in the motor gear assembly it's designed to fail.
Not knowing this I picked up a whole assembly with the motor and replace it for the driver side and it works very well. I fixed the passenger side for free! Meaning I did not pay for new parts or pay someone to do it. It is difficult but not impossible to get the motor in and out once you understand that you have to drill for the third Bolt.
Check out YouTube here's one video on how it's done.

For about $12 you can order the gear and stops they're made by Dorman.
we used a piece of half-inch dowel rod made out of aluminum
