Final test

Ok the front yoke seems fine. turns freely. I jacked up the REAR tires and put it in drive(2 wheel drive) The yoke in the front of the t-case turns but I can stop it with my hand. When i enguage 4 wheel drive I get a gear noise like something is off track. the front yoke turns but I can still stop it with my hand. I turn 4 wheel off the noise stops and the front yoke stops. The problem is definetly a t-case issue. Does this sound like a repairable issue or is it new t-case time. If its a new t-case and shopping ideas.

yep, your t-case is toast. its probably repairable, but these cases are not worth opening up when a junkyard case can be had for cheap.
