Door Ajar Light always on? 95 Ranger

Hi All

I am looking at buying a 95 ranger XLT.
The seller says the only 2 issues is the Door Ajar light is on and the passenger window won''t roll down. Not worried about the window, probably the motor or switch.

But not sure about the Door Ajar Light.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what might be causing the light to stay on?

The switch for the light is in the door latch assembly. They are a known failure point.

If you pop the door panel off, unplug the latch, and figure out which pins are for the door ajar light, you can test it by jumping them together with a paper clip.

I have no first hand experience, but I have read that WD-40 into the latch can help, presumably by cleaning up the contacts.

Yep. I have used wd-40 on several rangers and it always worked.
