door ajar, and dome light go on and off

It seems to have a mind of its own, sometimes it will stay on draining my battery then other times I'm driving then my door ajar lights up and my dome light is on. What is the problem, how do I fix it?

Normally a sticky switch will be the cause. You can spray WD40 or equal in the lock to (maybe) help.

x2^ Spraying WD40 in the latch and opening and closing the door a few times usually does fix it.
