Gentlemen
First of all I want to thank those of you who replied to my request for info with the 94 Ranger XLT that kept bustin flexplates. I got Jasper to give me a new motor and trans after I went through 3 of their transmissions due to busted flexplates. I bought a remanufactured Jasper motor and trans for the truck because my mechanic said they had a great warranty. I only use the Ranger to go back and forth to work once a week about a 2 1/2 hr drive each way. I spent over $8000.00 on their motor and trans with the install.
For some reason I went through 3 transmissions, the flexplates just kept bustin and taking out the main trans seal. After the third one they decide to replace the motor I bought from them too because it may be causing the tranny problems. This has been a major pain in the ass but up till now they have honored their 3 year 100.000 mile warranty. Now they are reimbursing me for some of the labor for the engine and motor install but they say that this motor and trans will have no warranty.
It seems when they get their product back all they have to say is we can not find the problem and it is not our fault, this voids the warranty and will leave you to pick up all the costs. The only reason that I bought Jasper was their 3 year 100.000 mile warranty but they have a clause in it that allows them to get out any time they want to.
I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY AS THEY HAVE A CLAUSE IN THE WARRANTY THAT LETS THEM OUT WHENEVER THEY WANT. THEY HAVE ARRANGED THINGS SO YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE TO HOLD THEM TO THE WARRANTY. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DECIDE IF THE PRODUCT THEY PRODUCE IS DEFECTIVE AND WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET SCREWED.
My truck is now running well but if it breaks another flexplate in a Jasper tranny with a Jasper motor they will not replace it. They say it must be something outside the motor and trans that is causing the problem, Yeah Right.
