Dome Light - Door Ajar LIghts stay ON

I tried the WD40 thing and replacing the switches. I then removed the connectors from ALL 4 door switches (XLT SuperCab). Everthing remained the same. Dome light is still on..... Door Ajar light remains on.
What next?

I have an 03 ranger edge, and while working on the doors I noticed that the switch was located in the door latch assembly on the ranger. I am not sure if this is a normally open or normally closed switch. I believe it is a normally open switch, so when the doors opens it closes the switch and sets the annoying door chim and turns on the dome light. I assume you have tried to unplug the switch at the door latch assembly and this has not worked. Try looking to what I might call the kick panels near your feet, the are the ones that connect the door panel trim to the floor trim, remove that panel and there will be another wiring harness you can unplug to check for a short. This harness is for that switch, the speakers, and (if you have them) power accessories. I hope this helps a little!
