Hello fine folks of the forum,

In a bone-headed mistake that was unlike my normally OCD self, I threw out the flare nut that connects the rear brake line to the ABS pump. My rear brake line rusted through in the middle of its run, between the fuel tank and the frame rail, so I pulled it out and replaced it. When I went to flare the end by the ABS pump, I couldn't find the old nut anywhere. I must have forgotten to remove it from the old line before taking it to the dump, and the local parts stores definitely didn't have one. Life has been a bit too hectic lately!

I'm hoping that someone has a parts truck, and wouldn't mind selling me a replacement. It's a 1996 Ranger 4x4, and the connection is circled in the attached photos. I need the female nut that goes on the end of the hard line before double-flaring. Many many thanks in advance!!

Also, when the line went, the reservoir ran dry, so I'm guessing air has gotten into the lines leading to the ABS pump. Any clever suggestions for bleeding it? Right now, I'm assuming that I'll have to tow the truck to a shop once I'm done replacing the line.

Thanks again.

Ames

Parts store probably would have it, gonna take some trial and error though.

I tried Napa and O'Reilly. No dice. Unfortunately, we don't have junk yards close by, but I think that's my only remaining option...

Thanks.

Did you ever find the flair nut you were looking for? I am trying to make up new brake lines for my 96 Ranger with 4WABS just like yours. It is a metric M10x1 flair nut for a 3/16" line, but I have not been able to locate then anywhere. I tried my local NAPA, CarQuest, O'Reily's, Auto Zone and even Ace Hardware with no luck.
