Hi everone working on a 1999 ranger with 3.0 in it I need 2 or 3 dog bone that holds the valve in place any and all help would be greatly appreciated I guess the technical name would be a valve retainer.

These little things?

I think he means Lifter(tappet) guides, hard to find these except from a 3.0l Vulcan that's no longer being used :)

Ford used roller tappets in the 3.0l Vulcan starting in 1992, and the guides keep the rollers lined up straight with cam

Like this?

Yes, those are the tappet guides or "dog bones" in the 2nd picture

Just wondering will these that fit a 93 work in a 99 3.0

possibly, I'd do a cross reference on the lifters for both years as a start.
