does anyone know if i could swap a front diff, from a 88 b2, into a 85 ranger without any major problems. im swapping the rear end to a l/s with 3.73s, and im being told you need to do the front as well so i was going to pull the front diff of the same b2 . would this work?

it should work, given both have the saem gearing in them.

If both axles are coming from the same vehicle, the gearing should be the same.

It may be easier to swap the entire front instead of pulling the 3rd member, less bolts anyway.

true, but then you have to mess with the alignment...

as long as both are the D28 you shouldn't have any issues. Just pull the pumpkin (front D28) from the B2 though, as thats all you'll need
