Diesel Ranger Owners!!!

Hey I'm new here just wonderin' who all on here owns the old Rangers with the Mazda/Perkins or Mitsubishi diesels?

own an 1983 ranger diesel xlt loaded in it 's day just got it going after sitting since 2005 it started right away less that a quarter turn ready for a ground up resto, known it since the day it was new have owned it since 2003

Thanks guys, the diesel never fails to elicit a few comments when you pull up to a service station in a Ranger that sounds like a Bobcat, that 2.2 Perkins is a noisy lil sob so there's no mistaking it for a gasser.

I have a perkins diesel my father bought new in 1983, it has been sitting since the starter drive failed, I got a new one but never put it in.It's quite rusty now so am looking for a new body.I also have 2 1987 4d55t 4x4 Rangers, one that I drive daily and one that is waiting for a motor rebuild.I have had the head,injector pump and camshaft rebuilt and am waiting for parts from Ebay to finish the rebuild.

with 8 glowplugs. is that normal?
