Did I break my transmission?

I have a 1992 2wd 2.3L and I have been reading that these things are known to blow a slave cylinder or pilot bearing. I am almost positive that this has happened to me but I also lost my 2nd gear. It's like hitting a brick wall if you try to shift there. So now I have to shift 1st to 3rd. So my question is if I replace the bearings and all that will I get my 2nd gear back? Or did I break my transmission? :icon_confused:

I'm speaking from a very low experience level here, but if you blew the slave cylinder, you wouldn't be able to release the clutch at all. If you can shift normally from 1st to 3rd (both on the same rail) with a little bogging but without any rev matching magic tricks, then 2nd gear is shot for sure.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense.
