Anyone know where I can get some for cheap for my Ranger?

Looked on the web and I have seen Jeeps with them..

Thinking about doing the same to my doors since I have no panels...

Plan to do an exterior diamond plate trim too.

You could always make them. Go get some plate stock and fab a set up.

Its been about 3 years since I priced any diamond plate, and I was looking at a piece about the size of a license plate. Don't even remember what it was gonna cost.

Any ideas what size I should get to make both panels for a first generation Ranger?

Just go out and measure a rough outline... then double it if you're going to do both doors.

There's no such thing as cheap diamond plate anymore. Going to a metal supply yard will get you a large piece, but it will not be cheap. I priced it out last year once and found someone on Craigslist that was selling some whole sheets, but IIRC it was like $140 for a 4x8 sheet or better.

Cheapest way to get the diamond plate look would be if you can find some plastic sheet embossed to look like diamond plate.

At first I thought your were talking about doing the doors like an open Jeep's doors (tube style). That would be really neat. Someone here posted some photos of their Ranger with tube style doors. The inside door panels would look really neat done that way!!
I never thought about that before....hmmmmmm, I have some smaller sheets of diamond plate, 10x12 that I can use for something....hmmmmm, maybe I should just use them to make that skidplate I keep saying I want to build.

Id suggest black diamond plate! Lol
