I hit a deer with my ranger awhile ago and broke my headlight out and messed up the door a little. I replaced the headlight but its not adjusted right. How do you adjust them? Cand you pull up so close to a wall and measure the distance to adjust them, if so what are the measurements?

Also the door doesnt look messed up but it whistles and it needs adjusted so im told. I havent even looked at it yet but if theres any tricks to doing it i would appreciate it.

Thanks

Most garages have a headlight alignment chart...it's just two cross-hairs painted on a wall...but you can adjust them yourself sorta like you mentioned...just park about four feet away from a wall...

The main thing about adjusting them is that neither point into the oncoming traffic and are aimed so that the light displays the road upwards of 50 feet in front of you...when you are adjusting the beam it should be focused just inside the width of the front end of the truck...you will be able to tell that just by looking at the way it hits the wall in most cases...

Aim the driver's side slightly towards the passenger side but not so they cross each other...

The door adjustments depend on what way it is out of alignment...you should be able to tell by the lines of the truck if it is too high or too low...if you open the door and it drops slightly it may just need new pins...otherwise, there are four bolts (on each hinge on mine) that allow you to loosen the door and make adjustments...the only trick I know is to have someone help you because once you loosen the bolts it can be hard to hold the door in place and tighten the bolts...

I did both of mine by myself and used a hydraulic jack to hold the door up...it took several trial and error attempts but both doors are now perfectly aligned...and once you do that make sure you tighten them good and maybe use some locktight to keep them from backing out with vibration...
