I found a 67 eb dana 30 with 4:10 for $100.00 can it be upgraded with the later jeep d30 parts, ie swaping out spindles for the ranger bolt pattern and u joints. I got a 84 xl 2.8 4spd with 3:08's and a 87 b2 2.9 5spd ngk shafts for spare parts. for every day driving and some relativley light wheeling and larger tires would the eb30 be a good replacement for the d28. And i got to take the dog house off and pull motor and tranny to put in new clutch due to some issues. I figure once i get the eb30 in the eb d44 would be an easy upgrade later. and im also planing on installing the b2's larger gas tank out back. Thx's for any help

I don't think I'd use an EB D30 for a door stop... They are low-pinion which makes it a marginal upgrade over your D28 (maybe the shafts excepted). Jeep stuff doesn't fit on it either (Jeep = balljoints, EB = kingpins).

Have you thought about just bolting in a D35 from an Explorer or a later Ranger? Stock for stock it's stronger than even a EB D44 (has the bigger u-joints). Unless you have some aversion towards the TTB suspension setup, that would be by far the easiest way to go if you're having D28 problems. There are loads of gear & locker options available for it much like with the D44 too.
