has anyone tryed to swap a eb44 with leafs? or kno if its do able?

yes yes i know .. it bolt RIGHT up with coils i have an extra set of leafs laying around . and my 44 didnt come with lower coil bucets or radius arm brackets. and i really dont need all that flex. so before everyone thows a fit. i just want to know if its doable.

my consern is i think i may run out of space for shock mounts..?

any knowledge is appriciated!!:icon_cheers:

You would be better using a Wagoneer D44 for leafs as you won't have to worry about the cast radius arm wedges getting in the way of your leaf spring perches.

ok ..
maybe you didnt quite get it.. i have a eb 44 (wedges cut off) the question is do i have enough room for shock mounts and has anyone here tryd to do an eb44 swap with leafs? im aware im being different. im using wat i have and trying to make it work.

i dont need your negativity. or i shoulda got this or that axle.
so ... KNOWLEDGE IS APPRECIATED. :icon_cheers:

If you have the wedges off, then you have an axle with bare tubes. I did not know that, thought you just meant you had no radius arms or mounts for them....No need for the attitude here bud....

You simply need to figure out the correct spacing and center up the leaf spring perches and weld them on with the correct pinion angle/caster.

Shocks mounts are pretty simple...weld them just outboard of the leaf spring perches....

Anything is doable, you just need the proper planning.

thats wat i was lookin for thank you:headbang:

now caster ... can u explain that a bit or point me in the right direction .. wher i can grasp the concept?

Read build threads of other members. Caster is common knowledge all over the Internet.

RESEARCH IS APPRECIATED.

Caster is set between 6 and 10 degrees, it helps your tires center themselves after a turn. If you have to little, you could be fighting your steering constantly, too much and you could have premature tire wear and less turning radius...

Try and get a happy medium between decent pinion angle and good caster angle at ride height.

The larger the tires, the more caster generally you will need. Around the 5 degree mark should be plenty in your case. I'm running 6 degrees with 40's on my 91 and it tracks straight down the highway.

I've got mine set at 7, with 47's, it tracks good. I've found I've got too much travel for running a tracbar, so pretty soon I'll be redoing my front suspension...
