I have ben reading as much as i can on the D44 knuckle swap and am going to start mine this summer, I have a 91 or 92 explorer D35 to swap in to my ranger after i can find and add some D44 knuckles.

My question is what would be the best donor for the D44 knuckles? Im not sure what to look for in the junk yard...:icon_confused:

newest possible with the least amount of miles and rust,

that reminds me of something.

if ya plan on putting new ball joints ect on them any ol' fullsize bronco or f150 from about 1980-96? would work i think.

there are some differences. i found out a little on this site, but i figured the fullsize guys would be the best to consult with. Click Here for a thread i started on a full size bronco forum. that should help narrow it down

Thanks for the quick reply's :icon_thumby:
One more question all the D44 stub shafts are the same right?
No different spline counts or anything on different years?

no they are not.

the ranger style 150 setup has a lil different stub.

the gm's are a bit different.

depending on what approach you use depends on what stubs you want.

i just had some of this come up the last three weeks and forgot about some of the combos. one just today...just got off the phone with the current owner a lil while ago..the fact i did that particular deal 10 years ago and it came back to me today from 3 states away has me a lil worried bout giving out advice these days:icon_surprised:

look at the link above and go from there:icon_thumby:
