I am swapping to a Dana 35 and I was wondering if the brake system was the same. The calipers don't matter I have both sets, but I just replaced my pads and rotors and was hoping to not have to buy new ones again.

Also can anyone give me some more info on the front driveshaft. Is taking it somewhere and having it shortened my only option?

If i remember correctly some 90 b2's came with d35. If you find one i would think you could use that one.

it seems like everyone asks this question but yes. some can get it to bolt up but it will still be too long under compression.

don't sweat it, i got my d/s shortened and balanced for $60

You mean driveshaft? I'll see if I can track one down.

I wonder if the Ranger one I got on my D35 will fit....

you don't need to have your front shaft balanced, most guys don't. you only use it in 4wd (and many front shafts aren't balanced from the factory) so allow me to elaborate: it was $30 to shorten, and $30 to balance.

just spend the $30 to shorten your shaft and be done with it

Any RBV with a D35 will also have a 1354 t-case. So unless you also swap the t-case, a D35 driveshaft won't fit.

I shortened the driveshafts on mine myself, though if you don't have some means to get the end piece back into the tube perfectly straight (a jig of some sort), you will never get it to balance properly. With as cheap as it seems to be, I'd just have a shop shorten it.

D28 & 35 brake calipers are the same. Rotors are not.
