Hi im looking for some thoughts on a idea i have. I have a 1988 ranger with 1989 front end swap done to it and my bed has had patch panels done to it by one of the previous owners and it was a bad job also the under side of the bed floor supports are very rusty (chunks are missing). scenes it looks like no one is going to make complete bed sides in the near future I got thinking what if I take a step side tub and re work some full size early 90's style flaireside edition fenders to fit. If any suggestion im all ear's or if someone can do a Photoshop rendering that would be greatly appreciated. these are the panels I would be starting with https://www.mcneilracinginc.com/pro...-bulge-step-side-off-road-fiberglass-bedsides thanks

what do you plan to do....?? any off roading or just want a cool looking low rider? cant see it being a work truck and a step side unless it is purpose built.

my bed is a custom step side.... and it laughs off trees unlike those beautiful mcneil offerings.

but they look great.

The truck is lowered 3 and 3 so cool looking low rider. The thinking is I cant find a good 6 foot bed near me (got to love Manitoba and road salt in the winter) but i can get a step side bed with minimal rust on the tub then make those fenders work because they would look era correct but still different then the shadow Rangers. The 2008 fx4 is the work truck 4.10 gears the truck has pulled many a full size truck into the shop I work at.

Can you get them with standard opening.?. Be nice for sure.

I dont think so I would have to contact the company but I have to cut 6 inches out of it so I think that will help with the arch also was going to fiberglass a peace of plastic on top to make it flat like a full size. Worse case I can cut the arch out and lower it to look proper
