i owned 2 rangers in the past, a 2004 and a 2008. good little trucks. in 2012 i special ordered a raptor from my local dealership that i currently drive. i love my truck, but it turned 9 years old last month, and i am thinking it might be time for something new. at this point in my life, i dont really need a full sized truck (well, i didnt need the raptor, but i felt like it was a once in a lifetime vehicle ownership experience i couldnt pass up!). anything anyone here can tell me that would convince me to move forward with this change would be greatly appreciated, as this decision, should i choose to make it, wont be an easy one for me.:dntknw: it might be a good decision financially as raptors (and trucks in general these days) really hold their value well. thanks for reading. i will post a pic of my beast soon(y)

I don’t know what options you got on the Raptor, but you should be able to get over 30k for a decent Raptor in this market... that would almost pay for your Ranger.

It's definitely the time to sell one if you're so inclined. That said I would be hard pressed to not wait for the 2023 Ranger to hit. The options aren't in just yet but there should be some information soon as to what you can get. Globally they will have a 2 door extended cab which I feel will also come to market here... if a 2 door with a 6 foot box is your thing.

The current Ranger is based on the one that came out in 2012 for the World Ranger. A new generation is slated to come out soon based on the new Bronco platform. I'm not sure how long you are willing to wait since the used selling market is so high right now. The current new Ranger has a decent amount of power with the 2.3 Ecoboost in it and there is a lot of accessories available for it through the aftermarket and Ford. Granted, it won't have the power of a Raptor if you have the 3.5 Ecoboost model but is respectable and has much more get up and go than any of the old Rangers ever did from the factory and you can get an actual rear locker if you are so inclined.

i did order it bone stock, so theres that. i didnt need a bunch of bells and whistles, i just wanted to own a raptor. the only option i really would have considered is hid headlights, but that required adding a 4k option package, and i didnt need all the other stuff that came with that, and i have since upgraded the lighting. i have put some money into it, and mileage is just south of 70k. 30k trade in would be about what i would be looking for

Could you add in a little of your driving style/uses of the vehicle? There are a lot of owners here probably not sure what kind of opinion you would be looking for. Full size vs mid, cabin room, power, towing, off road daily driver etc..
