The big black filter that connects air intake hose to crankcase, located behind the power steering and A/C bracket, is called what? I've got it soaking in paint thinner overnight. Is it enough to shake it vigorously with thinner in it, or is there a preferred method for cleaning it? Or do they get replaced? Couldn't find anything about maintenance for it in the Haynes book. 95 B2300

PCV valve? Picture? Not completely sure what you are talking about.

This thing sits forward of the oil filter and slightly higher than it. In the case of too-high crankcase pressure, the blow-by gases go through it and up to the intake air filter. Otherwise, under normal conditions, it allows intake air into the crankcase, via a hose that plugs into the top of it. The bottom tube slides into a hole, and there's a single bolt to hold it there.

I just took a picture of the spare one I have, with the computer monitor built-in webcam, but can't figure out how to attach it.
