Ok well I have a 2002 mazda b2300 2.3l 5 speed and I just noticed there's a lot of play n the clutch pedal. If you pull up on it, you can pull it up about 2-3 inches. It still engauges and disenguages just fine. Is this major??? what should I do? Please help. :icon_confused:

Wow a week without a reply? Doesn't usually happen around here. So I guess I'll chime in and see if I can help.

First, where does the pedal sit when at rest? Is it about even with the brake pedal? Maybe a little higher?

Second, how far down do you have to push the pedal to disengage the clutch?

From what information you offered, my first guess is to check the fluid level in the clutch resevoir. If it seems to be ok, then try bleeding the slave cylinder. The reason for the last recommendation is a problem I just had with mine. I would loose fluid, only when cold. what I found was the oring in the quick connect is old and shot. when it's cold outside it would leak and air would enter the slave cylinder.

Check it out and get back to us.

thanks for the reply. the fluid is fine. it engauges/disinguages fine. its level with the brake, you can just pull it up about 2-3 inches. o well... ill jus DGAF it

That is really wierd. After work I went and checked mine. At rest the pedal sits a tad higher than the brake, but has no upward play at all. Very strange.

i know, right? i asked my neighbor though (hes a mechanic) he said it was fine. so i guess ill leave it alone... very weird though.

It sounds like the Clutch Master Cylinder Rod to pedal is not fully engaged into the Master Cylinder itself

I had the same problem on my 96 Ranger after i pull the rod out of the Master Cylinder so i could remove the master cylinder. After i reinstalled it the rod would not lock in place anymore. The rod will not come out but the clutch pedal would move up like above the brake pedal. After awhile it started to bother me so i had to replace the Master Cylinder to fix it.

how do i fix that?

i always use the ranger four banger forum for my questions on my 95 B2300. It's basically a ranger except for the bed's flared sides. I always get quick responses there, same day. Just the way it is.

yea i know it just wasent really a big issue. if you like my truck i started a build thread
