Hi I'm new here but have referenced issues with my truck from here many times. Over the past month or so my clutch has been sticking when I release it but only in 1st gear and then grinding in second up to 20mph. After that it runs just fine. I use this truck for work and it is already 2 months over due on its inspection due to check engine light being on. Please help.

Its a 1998 ford Ranger, Manual transmission 5 speed, 2 wheel rear, with the 4 cyl engine 2.5 liter.

hey man (my dad has been using my truck) and had that problem, then he started to smell burning upon the release....and NOW I have no clutch pedal and have to replace the slave and clutch...bu most likely the main issue is your slave isn't allowing the pressure plate to release...so my advice is to make sure everything is working properly before it gets bad!...are you loosing fluid in the clutch reservoir??? I hope this helps
