well, I blew my tranny out a couple weeks ago, and ive been wanting to sell my B2 to get a truck, but, lately ive been debating on if i should actually sell it, or chop the top and close the cab, ive seen it done, now, if i do that, how hard is it to chop the whole back and put in a ranger bed? because i seriously want a step side. i can weld, and close the whole cab for pretty cheap, so would it be more cost effective to pull a bed off of a junk ranger and stick it on my cab? or should i just keep looking for a buyer and buy a truck?

I think you'd be better off buying a truck. Sounds to me that's what you're really wanting. Pretty sure the mounts wouldn't line up for one thing, though not positive.
You could add bed rails and tail gate from a Ranger to make a more functional bed. I don't know about doing a step-side though.
RICO9 did a sweet chop top, here's a link http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104606 Maybe it'll give you some ideas.

thanks! i like the way he used the gate to seal the cab, it looks pretty good, and that would save a lot of money. and from what i see you have a chop top as well, did you also use the gate? and i also like the diamond plate, i really thought about it, and i do like the chop top idea, can you give me more info on it and how to use the gate to seal the cab?

On mine i just took the hatch and cut out the part where the window was so the whole thing lifts off when you turn the handle. Still a work in progress, though.

where did you get that roll bar, and did you use rails to cover up the sides after you chopped it?

If you want I can tell you how I did mine. Honestly though, if I were to do it again, I think I would try welding the back of a ranger cab on instead of the B2 hatch. I did it about 7 years ago and it's cracking pretty bad now.

I got the rollbar free from the dealer I worked at. It was out of an F150 that was traded in. I had to cut out around 9" of width I think to make it fit.
