Hello. Thanks for looking at my post.

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 XLT that has (2) Check Engine Codes that I cannot seem to get rid of on my own.

Code (1): P1401 differential pressure feedback circuit
Code (2): P0455 evaporative emissions leak large

*History:
(1) I have tried to change the DPFE 2x and that did not work.

(2) I have replaced the EGR only a short while back, a year maybe, and had cleaned out the carbon at the same time I replaced the EGR valve. The CE light at that time went off when replaced.

*I got pulled over and cannot Renew my registration because the CE light I cannot get a Smog. Any help of where to begin would be more then appreciated.

Thanks.

If you take the pipe loose to the EGR assembly, and then start the engine, do you get exhaust coming out of the pipe?

Have you modified the exhaust in any way? Have you gutted the cat? If you do not have enough backpressure in the exhaust system, there will not be enough pressure coming up the EGR pipe for the EGR system to work correctly.

Have you tried the gas cap for your evap code? You have a leak somewhere, you just have to find it.

Hello. Thanks for the Reply.

1. I have not removed the EGR assembly etc...will try and see if any exhaust comes out....

2. No mods any way original system. Not gutted CAT

3. New gas cap was put on while back and same codes.

Thanks.

Hello. I went ahead and purchased a new Motorcraft DPFE and installed that. It actualy added a code.."p1400" Low Voltage...and high voltage?

I looked around but am un-certain how to test the pigtail connector to the DPFE, could that be the issue? Or how to test the DPFE senor? I do have a Tester..but am not a Pro.

Any advice would be appreciated...Thanks.
