changing title pcm E8TF-12A650-UC is compatible with E8FT-12A650-U1C ?

Hello, after a lot of testing I am certain that I need a new EEC-IV, at Rockauto I have the choice between Cardonne or Blue Streak Electronic, does anyone have an opinion on these two brands, which one to prefer?
also, my ecm is an E8TF-12A650-U1C and those that I find on Rockauto or elsewhere are UC without the 1, is this compatible?

"Rebuilt" 1994 and earlier PCM(ECM) just means they replaced the 3 capacitors in the computer and cleaned the circuit board and 60 pin connection

Under $5 in parts



If you or a friend can solder then just replace the Caps and save some money

You do need to pull the computer and look at the 3 capacitors to get the numbers off them, as Ford used different ones



OR Google: Ford PCM capacitor repair kit



They do sell 5 or 6 capacitors in a kit that "usually" will have 3 that will match what yours needs, $15



There is no "testing" for these, not even Ford could test PCMs just swap them out, so buying another one doesn't mean it has been tested since there is not test

Best you can do is to hook up an OBD1 reader and see if PCM can "talk" with the reader, thats the o
nly test, lol

thank you for your answer, I opened the ecm, there is only one capacitor, while I was doing tests, it became very hot but on the other side, not near the capacitor
moreover the capacitor is not inflated and does not lose liquid so I think that it is not him which is malfunctioning
