January 2017, truck was in the local Ford place getting a new ECM flashed. Had them change the plugs, trans filter and fluid while there. Started ticking not long after I got it back. Figured it was just a valve adjustment thing, and the truck wasn't worth the effort to fix it. Three years later, it started missing last week. Bought new plugs over the weekend. Changed them in numerical order today. All was fine til I got to five. When I pulled the boot off five, the boot came off six as well. I thought, "that's not good!" When I put the socket on six, it was real loose. Came out in two turns. Thought maybe the threads were bad. Put new plug in, it tightened up fine. Started it, valve tick gone. Guess it was a compression leak. Weird how it sounded like a valve tick. Now the truck is so eerily quiet, it doesn't seem normal. ;-)

Think of all the power that came back... time to go whoop on it!
