Changed plugs...how bad is it?? also wierd noises

i got some ngk v power plugs for my junk today and put them in, and i saw something that kinda surprised me. on all 3 of the pass. side plugs, when i pulled them there was oil on the threads, but not on the the actual tower or porcelin. what does that mean? its not smoking and its running fine.

also i have a little lifter tick and i added some lucas when i changed my oil last but it didnt help. i also have some sort of tick comming from the bellhousing area, and from the valve body. what could that be? i also have pretty bad vibes on take off until i lock up the t/c, then it pretty much stops

can someone tell me what all this means before i go pulling parts and doing swaps? im getting steady vacuum about 18hg at idle taken from the manifold

the oil could have been applied to the threads when they were put in to prevent seizing.

a little lifter tick never hurt anyone

not worried about the lifter tick much, but the bellhousing area ticking kinda bothers me, im worried its the bottom end bearings. the drivers side didnt have the oil on the plugs. thing is, they were kinda coated pretty good. enough to drip right after i pulled them, but none was on the business parts of the plugs which tells me it could be burning oil

could be that the oil is leaking from the valve covers and pooling in the plug well. when you remove them, the oil then coats the threads.

Not too much to worry about.... unless the oil is leaking onto the exhaust manifold as well...

Pull the valve covers and adjust the lifters your killing two birds that way. You need to adjust the lifters cold in the tech library under 2.8 V-6 will give you the specs and how to adjust the valve lash.

dang that sux i just replaced the v/c gaskets not to long ago, my v/c's were a little bent up. where can i get some new ones?

I lied they changed the tech library, when the engine is cold turn the crank until you feel compression on the cylinder you are going to adjust and set them to spec. If you have the time all you need is a compression tester fitting air and a spring compressor to change the valve guide seals while you have the covers off. I just take a ball peen hammer and reverse dimple the bolt holes on the covers a little. just set them level on a wood block or stair set the ball on the hole and tap with another hammer when you tighten it back on dont reef on them just get them good and snug slowly with a torquing pattern from the center and work your way out.

where can i get the funny looking washers from? mines missing most of them.

the valve seals were replaced by the p.o right before i got it. how do i adjust them? also what kinda guages will i need? is adjusting the lifters and valves the same thing?
