Changed passenge-rside timing chain tensioner...

I have had what I consider a minor rattle noticeable at start up and idle. I changed the rear timing chain tensioner with an OEM part, which was not bad, but while screwing it in, I could screw it all the way in by hand with little resistance. My feeling is the timing chain guide is gone. I've google searched and listened to lots of videos with timing chain rattle, and mine sounds nothing like that in terms of volume... Note the rattle is still present, so I'm thinking time to trade it in...

The lower oil pan (at least on a 4x4) isn't bad to drop. If the guide is coming unglued... the evidence will be sitting in the lower oil pan.

You need to put these tensioners in oil then pump them once or twice to get them to suck in oil, then you install them

They have little resistance out of the box, so no surprise you could tight it by hand if you didn't "prime it"

It will "prime" when you get oil pressure, but there will be more of a rattle until it does
If you haven't started engine yet I would disable spark, unplug coil pack, and crank engine over a few times first to prime it
