I pulled the cluster out of a 1995 Explorer with Tach to replace the cluster in my 1992 (w/out tach). I had to rewire the plugs in back to accomodate the change. Everything works except...
The temp gauge only moves slightly off the "C" where as it would normally run at the "R" in Normal. The fuel gauge will show half full, then bounce down to a 1/4 tank and stay there when I know I have a full tank of fuel.
I tried to remove the needles and reposition them on the gauge to advance the temperature/fuel indicators, but now they seem to stay where I have moved them.
Is there something different between the 95 and 92 that would send a different reading. I did notice there was an removeable solid state circuit board on both clusters that appeared similar. Should I have switched those?
Any help would be most appreciated, especially how to reset the needles once they have been removed.
Thanks
