Center Console Swaps.

Soooo, while my truck is broken down, I figured I'd looks at center console options. To be totally honest, I am not a huge fan of the explorer consoles that can be swapped in. I've found one or two on amazon that fit into jeeps that some of the reviews show that people have put them in 3rd gen rangers. While the design of those is more to my liking, they are also mostly just cheap Chinese junk. Anyone have a center console that they really like, that isn't junk, and not from an explorer ??

I bought a smittybilt for my 06 Ranger and a Tuffy for my 86 Bronco II. The Tuffy was available in a 6 1/2 inch wide and a better fit in the Bronco II. The Smittybilt is 8 1/2 wide and will fit in the 06 after I modify my 6040 bench to buckets.

Both security consoles... Steel construction. The Smittybilt was roughly a third of the cost and it shows in quality. The Tuffy in way better build quality... but you'll pay for it.

I used a 95(IIRC) center seat/console for my Nissan D21. When I installed buckets in the Ranger I slid the center seat/console in the Ranger just to see if I wanted to look for another.

Not much different between the 2. Just the seat won't flip forward because of the shifters in the D21. I'll see if I can dig up an image.
