Anyone know if the 89-92 Rangers came with black interior? I've looked online but can't find a dash/trim in black.

Ford did not make them black. They sell aftermarket covers in black. Whenever you see a black interior it was painted that way. Pretty sure.

Well he had a black gen 1 dash, and it wasn't painted.

hey dudeee whats up lol. i just painted mine with dupil color http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinyl.html works mint so good i did my steering wheel too and it dont rub off use a green scotch pad for the steering wheel if its smooth clean it good to it came out great ill post pics tomorrow u can get it a advance auto i think 5 bucks a can works great tape it off take out any thing u can and paint good luck

Thats a black gen 2 dash. Step 1, find a very nice dash at the wreckers
Step 2, clean the crap out of it. Completely disassemble it, and scrub it with a nylon brush.
Step 3, clean it some more
Step 4, sand lightly with 400 - 800
Step 5, clean it again with paint prep
Step 6, paint with a trim primer(ford sells it i dont know the specific part number, theres lots of TSBS that list it)
Step 7, paint with interior trim paint availible at the parts store.

Step 8, enjoy the sexy black dash.


Black carpets are availible aftermarket at LMC truck.
