Now that i have put the 33's on the truck. And cranked the torsion bars. i want to see if i can get a little bit better ride. Any suggestions on shocks? Not quite sure what i'm looking for. Any help appreciated. Looking to replace front and rear.

Thanks!

i rode on a truck that had those and she was smooth. Thats probably what im leaning towards. Do you know what model? Cause like i said i dont know much about shocks.

Bilstein 5125 series from www.shockwarehouse.com

I have em and love em. I had ranchos before that, and tuff coutry shocks before those. Bilsteins are way better trust me.

Ranchos are great for the price.

Right now I'm running super lift and enjoying them also!

Im just looking for a smoother ride because i cranked the torsion bars. Didnt want to spend $250 on shocks if they werent right.

The Rancho RS5000's will fit on it with the torsion bars cranked way up, correct?

Thanks guys.

I have the RS5000's and really like them. They should as they are designed for up to 2" of lift, which jut so happens to be the recommended torsion crank limit:D

had those on my yj with m.o.r.e's shock kit, and they rode pretty dam good, yet were stiff enough to control the sway of SOA

im in favor of the fox emulsion on remote resi's they are tunable for your ride and even though they cost more, they are durable and rebuildable...saving u money in the long run. and if u need a diff length they are easy to sell

Monroe Sensa Tracs are pretty smooth riding, had them on my previous truck, and I recently found that the NAPA store brand shocks are the same thing for only $24 each.

I ordered some shocks for a buddies Sonoma a while ago and I was surprised by that too. All their shocks are Monroes, they even have the "safety triangle" logo on them.

I would recomend the bilsteins also. I would try and get some that are longer since you cranked up your torsion bars.

James duff 70/30's

"Bassmaster123",

Hello, I have used Rancho 5000's and 7000's (the 7000's were better on the Range). I have used Bilsteins (better suited for the Firebird) and Tokico's (great shock but not on the Ford's).

James Duff Ent. (JD) shocks have worked the best for my trucks. Their 70/30 shock does exactly what needs to be done for the suspension and especially during cornering and body roll situations.

For example: while making a 90 degree left hand clover leaf turn the truck wants to lean to the right, if you had JD duals up front and a singles in the rear the 2 shocks on the front right while retracting work as "three" regular shocks (70 + 70 = 140 / 50 = 2.8 [lets round that one to 3]). So the resistance to roll on the outside front of the vehicle is equivalent to the resistance value of 3 regular 50/50 shocks. While the 2 on the inside front corner of the vehicle are 30 = 30 = 60, or 1.2, a bit more resistance to extension than one regular 50/50 shock provides; this results in increased spring control on the inside of the turn while maintaining the resistance to extension greater than just one shock. Having dual rear shocks contributes positively to the equation but isn't always a necessity.

Even with single front JD's the control is proportionally better. Same sinario, the 70% resistance to retraction on the outside right and the 30% resistance to extension on the inside left makes for an incredibly better control of movement (having duals up front is better because of the increased weight in the front of the vehicle).
