hey i have a 91 ranger reg cab 4x4 with 35s and i reallly want to lock the rear end up, just wondering how to go about it. i believe it has 3.55 gears in it but im not sure. new to this so any help would be appreciated and its a daily driver too. thanx.

Lunchbox locker.

Aussie, Lock-Rite, No-Slip etc

Search is your friend

Need to know which size rear end (7.5 or 8.8) before you start looking. Info on the tag bolted to the rear cover of differential.

the only thing i really found on it was RF-F07W-AA ?

Jeepers! 3.55 with 35's? Your tranny must hate you... on that note, you should invest in a gear set before a locker. Just my .02

Separate note, you can get lockers for both the 7.5 and 8.8 rear ends that were offered in the Ranger. Just make sure you know what it is, as stated.

okay so i found the rear end code on the drivers door it says 95 so i found out that means an open 8.8" with yes 3.55 gears. it doesnt seem to bad actually although i would like to change that. how bad would it be if i got it welded for now? lincoln locker? i think

If you daily drive it, you can expect more tire wear than if you left it open... That being said, a lot of people tend to be scared of welding the rear end, but it's really not as scary as everyone makes it out to be. Sure, it's likely not going to be as strong as an actual locker (that is unless it is a welded orb of traction... :headbang: ) but it still does the job, and does it well. And you'll be able to hear birdies when you corner!

cool thanks thats what i think i will do untill i can afford different gears and a real locker. what about vibration? im told that welding it causes lots of vibration when driving it at speed?
