Hi everyone I recently rebuilt my engine, which meant the removal of the camshaft synchronizer, I took pics to note the orientation of the synchronizer, but other than that I have nothing to work off of. There's not a whole lot in the chiltons manual and I have found procedures online, but one can only trust those so much. I have tried resetting the synchronizer multiple times, and every time code p1309 comes on.
I set the motor at tdc for the #1 cylinder, making sure it's on the compression stroke. I then get the tool that was supplied with my new synchronizer and start it at 60* from the centerline and rotate it down and it ends up at about 15* and appears to be in the same position that my picture shows. Everytime I still get the dang code. What am I doing wrong here? About ready to give in to going to a shop and having them do it... Too many hairs have already been ripped out!!
