Last week I was driving and noticed the truck bucking at 3000 rpm. Didn’t have time to mess with it so I just kept it under that. As the week went on it bucked at 2700, 2500, 2300, and 2000 until it finally took a dump and just shut off completely. Tried to start and all it did was crank but wouldn’t kick over. Thought it was the fuel pump so I pulled the bed and changed it but I’m still having the same issue. Scanned it and got a p0320 code for Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit. The wiring looks good so I figured it might be the Crankshaft Position Sensor but figured I’d ask here for some insight before I fire the parts cannon at it.

Truck is a 2006 2.3L with 79k miles on it.

Or cam sensor?

don't get carried away with the parts list.
from the 2005 Ford diag manual.
sorry about being a bit tipsey this morning.

in my experiences when the fuel is dropping off it is not a hard miss fire.
instead it's more like a progressive loss of power, kind of like I'm tired and want to sleep,
happens over a few seconds when the inertia switch is tripped.

so it could be coil/plug related ? The wiring looks fine to the CPS and everywhere else in the engine bay.

at the very least remove and re-seat the connectors a couple times, check for corrosion on the pins.
