I usually keep that kind of stuff around for a while, incase I run into an issue, I can swap parts back over.
Parts can take a beating in shipping and storage, so even new parts can be defective. Drop a case of spark plugs, and the poor guy who buys them is in for a headache while he tries to run down the miss in his newly tuned up truck.
Just sayin' 'cause I've been that guy.
Except for double checking the new parts, the only way I can think to proceed is to see what the vacuum is doing.
Put a fuel pressure guage on it and bring the engine up to temp and shut it off and watch the fuel pressure if it drops steady fairly fast you may be just flooding the cylinders. If the O2 sensor sees raw fuel it will send a lean code also, injectors or fuel pressure regulator would be suspect. Smell for raw fuel in the vacuum for the regulator and pull the plugs and see if they are all wet. That could also cause the erratic miss. Do you smell fuel out the exhaust when it wont start. Just looking from a different angle!
So I dropped my vacuum gauge and broke it today but shooting from the hip, I disconnected then wire going to the MAP sensor. Truck surged at idle, but didnt fire into exhaust at all. Reconnect and it immediately starts misfiring. Disconnect and it's gone instantly. Going to shotgun a map sensor into it today.
