Hi,

I've got some work to do on my 93' Ford Ranger Supercab. Can I use my Ranger driveshaft, if I change my fine spline to a coarse spline from a
Bronco II? I'd appreciate some insight on this from anyone who may have done this or knows that you shouldn't!

Thanks,
Davey Crocett

Spline? On what?

What exactly are you doing? (need more info)

Bronco II fine to coarse spline with a Ranger Drive Shaft

Sorry, I guess I didn't give very much info...it was late when I posted it!!
I'm changing from a push button, automatic 4x4 to a manual 4x4. The maual 4x4 transfer case has a coarse spline that fits INSIDE the transfer case.
The automatic transfer case has a fine spline that fits OVER the shaft inside the transfer case.
Can I take the coarse spline off the Bronco II driveshaft and put it on my Ranger drive shaft...and, will it be the right length?

Hope that gives you a better idea of what's going on.

Thanks for the response.

Ok, now it's making a bit more sense.

You apparently have a 1350 transfercase (the one with the slip-spline) and a 1354 (standard u-joint yoke).

The spline is part of the driveshaft, it's technically not removable.
What transmission did the BII have? There's a chance you could just simply use the BII front driveshaft on your Ranger and have it fit with the 1350 case, otherwise you may have to shorten the tube on the BII shaft 1" before it will fit your '93.
You won't be able to use your 93's shaft with the 1350 however.
