I just got my first ranger and Im trying to do as much research as I can about TTB beams. (Im an A-armed Toyota guy) Ive been reading as many tech article as I can but my question still remains. Can I swap d44 bronco/f150 TTB beams in my ranger? I understand I will need to fab new wider mounts for the beams. How much would this increase my Trackwidth if possible over the stock d35 ranger beams? Any help would be appreciated Ive been searching for a few days and havent came up with much besides people swapping d35 ends for d44s. And I wanna just swap the whole beam that way I dont need custom axles. thx

copykat has some brackets that can help....

unless he is banned again:icon_confused:

i think i will buy some from him myself for a family explorer setup.

depending on what brackets you have to work with you can make new holes to use the d44 beams....measure a d44 150 and then a ranger and it will be patently obvious what you want to do.:icon_thumby:

and depending on your abilities....it can go from patently obvious as to the solution...to patently ridiculous as to some solutions out there.

Ive seen his brackets but I think he sold em all. I really just want to know how much the d44 beams will widen my trackwidth.

thats easy. it will be the same as a 150.

I don't know where you're located, but Baja North in Kamloops BC Canada make the brackets as well. Search them up! :icon_thumby:

So the frame rails are the same width apart for Ranger and fullsize? Or are the mounting points the same between the two? Or is that why I'd drill the new holes in the Ranger brackets? I'll do some crawling with a tape measure once the snow melts but in the meantime, any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Richard

.look up the above mentioned outfit...

and yeah....you make the pivots the same distance apart on the ranger as they are on the 150 the track is the same....frame...no not the same. set the buckets out a bit and or inboard the spring mounts or a combo of such and some steering work and your where you want to be.

for me inboarding the springs is ideal for flex due to leverage and slower speeds...if your racing a coilover setup outboard on the beam may be key.:icon_thumby:

f150 track width is 67"
ranger track width is 58.6"
so do the math (67-58.6)=8.4" wider
so each wheel will stick out 4.2 inches more than the ranger

...i found this on the first page that came up on google for "f150 track width" and "ranger track width"

I put full width axles under mine (no measurements off hand) but with the 33x12.50s and a 10" wheel (i can't remember the back-spacing) it actually widedened the track-width from stock a total of 18"

and the year of my truck is different from yours too

I have read that they bolt right in and you just have to space the coil buckets out a bit. As far as steering linkage not sure on that..... maybe stone crusher steering linkage.

Basiclly your going to be running full width in the front and the rear will need to be addressed too.

Those figures were a little off (at least for the vehicles in question here)...

The F-150 D44 axle is 65" wide WMS-WMS, the Ranger D35 is 59.5", so a 5.5" difference.

The D44 beams can be lengthened 1" each beam next to the pivot and then will bolt straight into the RBV axle brackets (keeping it the same width as in the F-150). Coil buckets have to be spaced off the frame, and of course radius arm mounts and steering will need to be addressed.
