Broken sway bar link - Safe?

I've got a '02 Ranger 4x4 that is all stock. (I think)
As I was turning into my driveway I heard and felt a clunk and the truck rolled a little bit. At the bottom of the driveway was a rubber grommet (bushing?) with a washer attached to it. From what I could find online it's from the sway bar link. (picture attached) The link is still attached by the bottom nut. From what I understand it should be fairly easy to fix but all my tools are at work and this is my only vehicle.
My question is... is it safe enough to drive to the parts store and then to work to fix it?

Yeah you will be fine, hell I completely removed my sway bars all together! lol.

Agreed. You might want to try to tie it to one side so you don't hear the odd bang.

i just replaced the same one on my explorer. a replacement was $13.xx at autozone. took 20 minutes to change it out

Awesome, thanks guys. I will be picking up parts after work and tackle it as soon as I can.

One other thing, now that I have parts, anyone know what they get torqued to? I've found values of 18 and 33 lb ft. Which is right, or any other ideas?

Anywhere in that range is ok. The bushings should be tight, and you should feel no movement in the link if you grab it with your hand and try to move it around.
