Today my 93 ranger started pulling to the right. kinda hard. when i hit the brakes it pulled hard to the left. when i got home, the front driver side wheel was very hot. it even smelled "burnt". It started all at once. is this a calliper problem. I turned the rotors and put new pads on it 2 or 3 months ago. it was fine until today.

check if the rubber line going to that caliper is pinched or collapsed

the line appears to be fine. it's not pinched or damaged.

Sounds like a sticky caliper to me. You can test yourself if you want.

Remove the caliper (except for the hose) and the master cylinder cap, and try to push the piston in with your fingers. It should go in with significant effort. If it doesn't, it's binding.

If you replace the caliper, you need pads and a rotor, as well. They have been ruined.

i drove it to work last night and it was fine. it's only a 3 mile drive so it didn't have time to get very hot. it drove fine and the brakes worked fine so i don't think it damaged the rotor. if it pulls to the right when i'm driving and back to the left when i brake, wouldn't that be the passenger side caliper?
