I looked at the tech section on brakes and there is nothing on rear drum brake shoes. It says to either replace with bigger drums or mostly upgrading to discs in the rear. My rear shoes are getting worn and want to replace them with something decent. Any suggestions?

Well, any high quality shoe will do the job. I'm not sure what you are asking.

Just a good suggestion on what to replace the old shoes with, ie oem or aftermarket and which brand or type of shoe material etc.

I usually just get the NAPA premium ones. I have had, collectively between three sets of them, well over 250K trouble free miles.

Dad put a set on the Ranger, they lasted over 100K and were in good shape when the wheel cylinders blew and ruins the shoes, put the same kind back on, and they were in good shape yet when I replaced the axle. Still have a set on the BII, about 3 years old, showed no signs of wear two months ago when I took it all apart to do the parking cables.

I'm really satisfied with the stopping power of Hawk pads, though they dust a little.
