I have a 2wd 85 ranger and my brake lines are rotting out... i call a bunch of places and they say i need the length of the lines. does anyone here know what the length i need for brand new lines?

That because while they sell the rigid metallines in a variety of lengths any real mechanic will cut them to fit then flare the end of the line where it was cut.

u will need about 8ft

for what?

wow allen i am surprised you did not catch this.

it depends on which brake lines your talking about.

you will need about 10 feet to run to the back.
i think 35 inches for each side in the rear.

these numbers are from what i can remember. i just did the back half of my brake lines. this is for my 97 extended cab.

for some reason, the fittings are different sizes on the soft line as they are on the pistions and at the RABS module.

make sure you bring in the old fittings to get the correct new ones.

on my old truck, i made 3 trips to the store in one night. on my new one, i only made one trip.
