Okay I've looked on the web and it says to purge the master cylinder. So I got the clutch interlock off, and the pedal disconnected from the rod. I'm trying to get this snap ring out and it's impossible. I can't get my pliers on it and when I tried bending it off with a screwdriver/ice pick I broke off both eye lits on the snap ring and still the thing won't come out.. I'm going insane!!!!! Please help???

I don't know how but I got the snap ring out, but when I pulled the piston up and out, no fluid came out. Now what?

Okay never mind me. I left the diaphragm in the resevoir which created a suction allowing now fluid to drain. Went through about 2 resevoir fills of fluid. Then I put it together then gravity bled another two resevoir fulls and clutch feels good now. Just sharing for anybody's future reference!

this seems to happen alot on these 90s fords, had the same issue with my uncles 97 f250, wouldn't get hardly any fluid past the reservoir, eventually they found out that was the issue, I never really thought about it till I started looking at diaphragm's that most of the fords have, and it seems strange they didn't pleat them like chevy's and other brands so this doesn't happen, anyway, glad you got your truck up and running again

Yeah thanks man, real pain and dumb design. I was looking and everyone said it took less than an hour and I was like you've gotta have little tiny hands to do that or something! Or I must be dumb haha could not figure out how to get that little snap ring out. But yeah I just kinda jiggled the whole assembly and it found it's way out I guess! With my foot it feels a little soft so I'm gonna bleed the slave tomorrow with my dad pushing on the pedal. But I looked at the clutch and the slave cylinder seems to be pushing on the clutch fingers good.

Just a question I forgot to lube my spline. Does that matter and if so can I access it thru the inspection plate. Is white lithium grease in a spray can alright to use if I avoid the clutch disc
