I'm trying to do a Black/red theme for the interior of my 94 and I've been searching SO hard to find a gauge face that is black with red lettering. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or perhaps another question is what makes the lettering turn green so I could then swap out the green for red thus solving my problem. Is it the light that turns it green or is it something on the back of the gauge face?

with 94's I don't know but on mine it wasn't the bulb. The gauges on the newer ones actually had a green layer on the gauge face itself and a normal bulb behind it. I scratched off the green and put a white LED behind it to change the color.

Thanks! Ya I've seen a lot of the gauge faces with flames but that's not really my thing. Do you know what size the gauge face bulbs are? I hear a lot of people saying that they are 194.

They are 194 bulbs. On yours you will have to peel off the green film. I replaced the bulbs in mine once and they did not have any green on the bulb itself so I assume its on the gauge face itself.

On the 90 to 94 dash the film on the rear is green but LED bulbs seem to over ride the green to be what ever color LED you install.

There are a lot of forum threads on this subject and on the 90 to 94 all we had ta do was install 194 LED's in whatever color we wanted.

Even though my truck is red and black including the interior I went blue for the dash. It's very pleasing to the eye at night.

So do you still have the green film on yours? What leds are you using?

can u just peel the green film off and run a light layer of paint over the guages?

How many 194 bulbs would i need in order to replace all lights for the gauge face (including the AC knobs.) And how hard is it to take out the gauge face and to actually get to the bulbs?

i think theres 6 dash bulbs and like 2 or 3 in the ac controls
its not that hard at all. just take your time so u wont break anything. theres a how to remove the cluster in the tech library:icon_thumby:

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH! I'LL BE SURE TO POST PIX WHEN IT'S ALL DONE! it looks pretty nice right now but right now i have red lights with green gauge face which doesn't look good so i'm sure nobody would want to see it right now

What bulb are you using nitrofan1. It must b a high power 1 to power through the green. im looking to do red too, any update? Was removing the green film a pain in the a**
