what is the best system for a 2.9? what sounds the best?

"best" is a matter of opinion. what sounds good to one person might sound like crap to the next.

it might help if we knew what kind of sound you were looking for..and no "i want it to sound like a v-8" because that wont happen unless you swap in a v-8.

yeah sorry i meant to say that i want a sound that will be deep but not get the high ricy sound underneath

Single cat, 2 1/2" pipe and a 40 series is about as deep as it gets. No pipe after the muffler on a 40 series makes it stupid deep, I would set off car alarms without trying but the vibration was insane and there wasn't really any tone. Here's my 2.9 with 2 1/2 from the y pipe back into a single aftermarket cat into a 40 series exiting before the rear tire.
