best handling car you've ridden in or drove?

I remember being in my friends modded elcamino. Bored and cammed 350 with track bars and lowered with wide tires on it. Its common around here to see people race up the "old lewiston hill" alot of 2nd gear turns. He was keeping up with a sport bike all the way to the top.

Two come to mind. A 98 Mustang GT lowered with wider rims and tires. It felt glued to the road in the corners. And then my old 74 Mercury Capri. It was also lowered with wider tires and had bigger sway bars. I used to drive it over 120mph on a daily commute. I drove a long back road to work at midnight at the time. The car handled perfect. In the corners the Dunlop GTs would break loose just a little but I always felt in control and had a smile on my face.

My dad used to tell me aabout when he was a kid he had a road runner with a six pack that his dad made him trade for a mercury Capri because he got to many speeding tickets. Well the Capri had a Turbo and a 4 speed. Said he let off at 150 cuz it was starting to lift off the ground.

Mine had the 2.8L V-6 with headers and a Weber 2bbl carb. I feel that they were one of the most under rated cars for the time. I raced a 240Z back then and left him behind so bad I had to go looking for him so I could brag a little. And yes they were fast cars for sure.

I had actually looked into buying one but there not to common now days. I like cars that can be fast and no body drives them.

best handling car i drove would have to be an 88 crown victoria with the 5.0. ex detective sedan. thing handled the ice better than my ranger. flying down an icy snowy gravel road at 65-70 sounds stupid. but after riding in that thing i felt invincible haha

My lotus seven, Ass also three inches off the ground. friend of mine was driving it and tried to straddle a house brick, not a good idea, it pushed up the floor and what passes for a seat with such an impact he ended up with a badly bruised manly equipment. My mk1 Lotus Cortina was also a good handling car but more tail happy than the seven. Friend of mine had a mk1 Escort dfv, it handled similar to the cortina. Another friend had one of the original mini coopers, which was impressive, With any of these cars you usually ran out of nuts before the car ran out of grip. I should mention this was in England many years ago.

98 Taurus wagon, sits lower than some low riders, and has balls for days.

35mph right hand turns no problem.

If I drive it right my rangers would handle very well, the 2wd one could whip around and corner amazingly for a truck. My lifted 4x4 can't do as much (at least I'm not dumb enough to try) but it handles like stock thanks to the Duff lift.

Out of the cars ive owned id say my 2007 XJR. Best feeling, stable, and responsive car. Loved that car a lot but had to dump it in a few months because I always found myself 100-130mph slicing through traffic on the interstate.

Best car out of my possession was a 2004 M3 GTR concept that the BMW dealer my friend used to manage the service department for. They had the car for 9 days as a promotional thing to attract customers. We got to take the car out and that thing is a racecar.

2003 mustang cobra svt I was in high school got done with shop class that in a different town well I was stupid and past the school bus in a curve at 145-160 I was scared.

My brother's 2011 Mustang GT with the Brembo brake package, that thing will carve a corner... rides like a buckboard but it will corner.

My old '90 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo was fun in the curves too, I don't think it would hang with the Mustang but it was darn fun too... especially since I could drive it by myself.

Anymore with only two 4x4 trucks in my fleet for the last 8.5 years I am pretty easy to impress in the handling department...

I dd a Miata. Hands down the best car I've owned or driven. For being a stock car it is a kick in the ass.

This guy right here knows what's up. My brother daily drives a 94 M edition. Car is a dream to drive.

Being that I did the SCCA thing for years and had many cars, its hard to narrow it down.
The most fun was my 1983 Mercury Capri RS 302HO 4 speed with the suspension highly modified.
A 1985 pontiac Fiero....what a POS!
The 1976 Stingray Corvette was alright I guess...but Suspension was stock.
Car caught on fire...wasen't pretty..and nothing left.
A 1994 Dodge Stealth RT was ok but I coulden't stand the torque steer of front wheel drive...and went back to rear wheel drive.
Then the last one was a 1977 Datsun 280Z with highly modified suspension, and engine tweeks. Car is currently collecting pack rats in my barn sadly. Sold it to a guy and he drove it for awhile, then hard times hit and asked if I could store it for him along with a 1980 280ZX he has...that was 3 years ago and I havent heard from him.

My mustang was just (fast). lol

I would have to say my 06 Vic, dropped 1.25" on all four corners and big a$$ Nittos. Thing sticks to a dry road like its on rails and with the bolt on's, it will cruise at 130 MPH all day!

My Olds Cutlass when it was stock (it's more of a straight line car now ), surprised me more than once, but then again it did have the F41 handling package...

First in with a Mustang SVO. I've had 5 Mustangs and the SVO handled the best by far. I sold it about 3 years ago:




I've driven quite a few cars but the SVO handled the best. Better than my old '98 GT with subframe connectors, strut tower brace, and 4-point K member brace even. Number 2 on the list is my '89 LX notch 2.3L--the light weight and stiffer notch body helped the handling.
